I am a board certified music therapist, currently doing most of my work with children and adults with disabilities. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology from the University of Evansville in 2004, and completed my board certification, following an internship, in February of 2005. My primary instruments are voice, piano, and guitar, which I use daily, in addition to various drums and rhythm instruments, while providing music therapy services to my clients.
After working for a hospice in Oklahoma for a few years following an internship in Wisconsin, I decided to move closer to home and continue my work as a music therapist while developing my own L.L.C. to help with self-employment matters. I have been working a full-time contract position through a grant for local citizens with developmental disabilities for the past 3 1/2 years, and love it! I recently moved to Monett, Missouri, after the purchase of my first home. Less commute time has enabled me to expand my private practice to add a toddler/mommy music therapy session, two guitar lessons, and a piano lesson. I spend my extra time cooking, staying fit, and loving my Border Collie.
